Telegram Ads Analytics 2026: What the Official Dashboard Misses and How to Fill the Gap

The Telegram Ads dashboard shows your own campaign metrics only. This guide covers what native analytics provides, the intelligence gaps it leaves open, and how tgadsspy fills them with competitor data, historical archives, and industry benchmarks.

The analytics problem on Telegram#

Telegram built a clean ad cabinet. The analytics inside it are honest and real-time. The problem is they only show you your own data.

If you run Telegram Ads, you can see:

  • How many impressions your creative delivered
  • Your effective CPM and total spend
  • CTR for each creative
  • Breakdown by date range

What you cannot see:

  • What your competitors are running
  • Whether your CPM is above or below market rate
  • Which channels your competitors are targeting
  • What creative formats are converting in your vertical
  • Historical archive of any ad that ran before you started measuring

This gap is structural, not an oversight. Telegram does not expose competitor data by design. The only way to fill it is through third-party indexing — which is what Telegram Ads Spy does.

What the native Telegram Ads dashboard gives you#

The official dashboard at ads.telegram.org provides the following for each campaign:

Metric What it tells you Limitation
Impressions Total renders of your creative Your creatives only
CPM (effective) What you paid per 1,000 impressions No market benchmark
CTR Clicks ÷ impressions for your creative Your creatives only
Spend Total EUR billed for the campaign No competitor comparison
Active channels Approximate count of channels where ad ran No channel list, no drill-down
Date range breakdown Day-by-day impression and spend data Your campaigns only

This is sufficient to manage your own campaigns. It is insufficient for competitive intelligence, market research, or benchmarking.

What the dashboard does not show you#

1. Competitor campaigns#

The Telegram cabinet is a closed system. You can see your own creatives; nobody else sees yours, and you cannot see theirs. There is no "market view" of what is running across all advertisers.

This matters because Telegram advertising is fundamentally a creative performance game. The advertiser who ships more creative variants, finds the one that works, and scales it wins. Without knowing what others in your vertical are running, you are optimising in a vacuum.

2. Historical archive#

The cabinet shows data for campaigns you created in that cabinet. If a competitor ran a campaign last quarter and you want to understand what their copy looked like, the cabinet offers nothing. Even your own historical creatives older than a certain retention period may not be fully accessible.

3. Channel-level intelligence#

The cabinet tells you an ad ran in "approximately X channels in the Russian language category." It does not tell you which channels. You cannot see whether your creative ran in a 5M-subscriber channel or a 10K-subscriber channel — or which specific communities your competitors are targeting.

4. Industry CPM benchmarks#

You see your own CPM. Is that high, low, or average for your niche? The cabinet provides no benchmark data. To know whether you are overpaying for Russian-language crypto inventory, you need external reference data.

5. Creative format performance signals#

Which format works in your vertical — banner ad, text-only, or channel-pic? The cabinet shows your own A/B results only. Without external data, you cannot know whether the format you picked is industry standard or an untested outlier.

5 use cases: what Telegram Ads Spy intelligence enables#

Use case 1 — Creative benchmarking before campaign launch#

Scenario: You are launching a forex broker on Telegram, targeting Arabic-language channels.

Without Telegram Ads Spy: You write your creative blind, launch, and see CTR after 3–5 days of spend.

With Telegram Ads Spy: Browse Arabic-language forex creatives in the archive. You see that the dominant format is text-only with a leverage claim lead, not a banner. Three competitors use "1:500 leverage" in the first line; one uses a "free demo account" hook. You know which positioning is proven before you spend a dollar.

Result: First creative is informed by 12 months of competitive observation rather than guesswork.

Use case 2 — Competitor rotation monitoring#

Scenario: A competitor in your niche is growing faster than expected. You want to understand why.

Without Telegram Ads Spy: You speculate from public subscriber count growth.

With Telegram Ads Spy: Set a watchlist on their brand name in @tgadsspybot. Every time they launch a new creative, you receive a notification with the full creative text and CTA. Over 30 days, you see they are rotating 6 new creatives per week — heavy A/B testing — and that creatives mentioning "IPL" outperform their generic sports copy (based on the versions they ran longer).

Result: You identify their winning creative angle and develop your own variant.

Use case 3 — Channel intelligence for direct buys#

Scenario: You want to buy direct placements in high-quality Russian-language crypto channels, but do not know which ones are receiving EUR-cabinet sponsored advertising (a proxy for quality and monetization maturity).

Without Telegram Ads Spy: You manually join dozens of channels and observe content quality.

With Telegram Ads Spy: Query the API for channels where crypto creatives from established advertisers (Binance, Bybit, OKX) appear most frequently. These channels are sponsored-eligible, have engaged audiences, and have already been vetted by major advertisers' own buying teams.

Result: A targeted shortlist of 20–30 channels worth approaching for direct placement.

Use case 4 — Regulation monitoring for compliance teams#

Scenario: A law firm represents a financial regulator monitoring unlicensed investment advertising on Telegram.

Without Telegram Ads Spy: Regulators must manually join channels and observe ads, with no structured archive for evidence.

With Telegram Ads Spy: Query the API for creatives in a specific language containing target terms (signal copy patterns, guaranteed return claims, unregistered broker names). Each creative has a permanent URL with first-seen and last-seen timestamps, source channels, and the full text — citable evidence for enforcement action.

Result: Structured, time-stamped, citable evidence for regulatory filings.

Use case 5 — Market entry research#

Scenario: A consumer fintech product is planning to test Telegram advertising in Indonesia and Thailand.

Without Telegram Ads Spy: The team runs small test campaigns and waits 4–6 weeks for initial learnings.

With Telegram Ads Spy: Browse Indonesian-language and Thai-language creatives in the archive. Identify which fintech brands are already advertising (local vs global), what payment methods they highlight (DANA, GoPay, OVO in ID; PromptPay in TH), what CTAs they use, and which creative formats appear most frequently. The research phase takes 2 hours, not 6 weeks.

Result: First campaigns are informed by observed market conventions, not assumptions.

How to export and use Telegram Ads Spy data#

Public API#

The REST API at /api/v1/ads accepts the following key filters:

  • ?lang=id — filter by creative language (ISO 639-1)
  • ?niche=crypto — filter by classified vertical
  • ?advertiser=binance — filter by advertiser slug
  • ?since=2026-01-01 — filter by first seen date
  • ?q=bonus — keyword search in creative text

Full schema at /api-docs. Free tier supports low-volume reads without an API key. Business tier enables bulk export, higher rate limits, and webhook push.

CSV export#

Every filtered view in the API is available as CSV via /api/v1/ads.csv with the same parameters. Suitable for loading into spreadsheets, Tableau, or any BI tool.

RSS feeds#

Per-advertiser, per-niche, and per-language RSS feeds are available. Use an RSS reader (Feedly, Inoreader) to get new creative notifications without API integration.

Webhook integration#

Business tier: configure a webhook URL to receive a POST with full JSON payload when a new creative matches your watchlist criteria. Latency: seconds after ingestion. Suitable for integration with Slack, custom dashboards, or internal alert systems.

What Telegram Ads Spy does not replace#

To be clear about the limits:

  • Telegram Ads Spy does not show actual impression or CTR data for competitor campaigns. We show the creative, first/last seen timestamps, and source channels — not how it performed.
  • Spend estimates in the archive are derived signals (channel audience × market CPM), not actual billed amounts.
  • Creatives are indexed based on our channel pool. If a competitor targets niche channels not in our pool, we may miss creatives. Coverage improves as our pool grows.

The native Telegram cabinet remains the authoritative source for your own campaign performance data. Telegram Ads Spy provides the market context around your campaign — the intelligence layer the cabinet does not offer.

Methodology#

Creative indexing uses gramesh's channels.getSponsored endpoint across a monitored pool of 9,074 channels as of April 2026. First-seen timestamps are accurate to within the poll cadence for each tier (30 min to 72h). Language classification uses ISO 639-1 detected from creative text. Niche classification uses our 18-bucket regex classifier. Full methodology at /about.
