PancakeSwap on Telegram Ads#

PancakeSwap is the dominant decentralized exchange on BNB Chain and one of the most recognizable DeFi brands on Telegram. Its sponsored ad campaigns target both retail DeFi users and experienced yield farmers, with creative strategy that has shifted significantly as the DEX landscape matured from 2024 to 2026.

Creative Patterns#

PancakeSwap's Telegram creatives have a distinctive personality -- playful, yield-focused, and BSC-native -- that sets them apart from the more formal tone of CEX and wallet advertisers.

The swap-farm-earn trifecta. Almost every PancakeSwap creative anchors to three verbs: swap tokens, farm liquidity, earn CAKE. This three-part structure is memorable and communicates the full product in a single sentence, which suits Telegram's limited ad format.

APY-led hooks. Yield farming creatives prominently feature specific APY numbers for BNB/CAKE, USDT/BUSD, and top-pair liquidity pools. When DeFi yields were elevated (2024 bull run), these numbers served as the primary hook. In lower-yield environments, the ads shift emphasis to "real yield" from trading fee revenue.

V3 concentrated liquidity. PancakeSwap V3's capital efficiency improvements -- borrowed from Uniswap V3 but applied to BNB Chain's fee structure -- appear in advanced-user creatives. The pitch: same liquidity position, more fees earned, less capital at risk.

Lottery and gamification. The weekly CAKE lottery is a recurring hook unique to PancakeSwap among major DEXes. Creatives featuring "buy a ticket, win BNB" consistently perform in regions where small-ticket speculation is culturally familiar (SEA, LATAM).

Visual style. PancakeSwap uses its signature bunny mascot, cyan/pink palette, and "pancake" food metaphors ("stack your earnings", "flip tokens"). This playful brand identity is strong enough to be recognizable without text -- banner ads often show just the mascot with a yield number.

Geographic Distribution#

BNB Chain's geographic concentration shapes PancakeSwap's Telegram targeting more than most DeFi advertisers.

VN/ID/MY/TH (Southeast Asia). BSC is the dominant smart contract chain in SEA due to low gas fees accessible to retail users with smaller capital. PancakeSwap is the default DEX for these users. Vietnamese and Indonesian-language creatives focus on entry-level farming with BNB and stablecoin pairs, emphasizing that $50 is enough to start earning.

RU/CIS. Post-Binance-Russia DeFi migration drove RU users toward self-custodied BSC activity. PancakeSwap creatives in Russian position the DEX as the CEX-replacement for users who no longer want centralized exchange exposure.

ZH diaspora channels. Chinese-language Telegram channels remain significant for PancakeSwap given Binance's Chinese origins and the BNB Chain community. Creatives in these channels tend to feature the highest APY numbers and most complex DeFi strategies.

Global English. Baseline international targeting across crypto, DeFi, and investment channels. These creatives tend to be more conservative, highlighting security (audited contracts, $500M+ TVL) over yield numbers.

Messaging Evolution 2024-2026#

2024 Q1-Q2 -- Yield farming peak. During the bull market, PancakeSwap ads led with eye-catching APY figures. "Earn 40% APY on BNB" type headlines were common. The farming pools for new BSC token launches also appeared in sponsored messages.

2024 Q3-Q4 -- GameFi and NFT integration. As simple farming yields compressed, PancakeSwap diversified. Creatives appeared for PancakeSwap's NFT marketplace and gaming partnerships. The messaging: "DeFi is just the beginning -- NFTs, games, and more on PancakeSwap."

2025 -- Real yield narrative. The broader DeFi sector pivoted to "real yield" -- fees from actual trading volume rather than inflationary token emissions. PancakeSwap ads reflected this: CAKE buyback mechanics, trading fee distribution, and V3 efficiency. Less about APY numbers, more about sustainable tokenomics.

2026 -- Cross-chain expansion. PancakeSwap's deployment on Ethereum, Arbitrum, and other EVM chains became a central ad theme. "PancakeSwap is not just BSC anymore" creatives appeared, targeting Ethereum DeFi users unfamiliar with the platform. This represents a significant strategic shift visible clearly in the creative archive.

Data is collected via continuous sampling of sponsored messages across a panel of Telegram channels using the gramesh API. Advertiser attribution is based on CTA URL domain matching and ctaTargetUsername resolution. Creative counts are deduplicated by normalized text hash. Geographic inference uses the region parameter from the gramesh API response. APY claims cited in creatives are recorded as-observed without verification of actual yield.
